Medicines Management
At Attention to Health, your safety is our top priority when it comes to medicines. This is how we manage them:
Safe Prescribing
We only prescribe medicines when it is safe and appropriate.
Prescribers check your full medical history and make sure the medicine is right for you.
If there isn’t enough information, we may delay prescribing until it is safe.
Communication with Your GP
We will share details of your prescriptions with your GP, especially for controlled drugs, long-term medicines, or if big changes are made.
This helps keep your care safe and joined up.
Monitoring and Reviews
Some medicines need regular checks to make sure they are working and not causing harm.
Reviews may be monthly at first, and then every 6 months once things are stable.
We work with your GP for longer-term monitoring.
Your Information and Consent
You will be told why a medicine is being prescribed, how to take it, and any risks or side effects.
We will always ask for your consent before prescribing, especially if the medicine is “off-label” (used outside its licence).
Controlled Medicines (like ADHD medication)
We do not keep any stock of controlled drugs.
Prescriptions are issued safely and securely, and usually only for up to 30 days at a time.
These prescriptions expire after 28 days.
If Problems Happen
Any errors or side effects are taken very seriously.
We record and investigate them quickly, so lessons are learned and improvements made.
What This Means for You
